A data entrou no calend\u00e1rio da organiza\u00e7\u00e3o por iniciativa brasileira.<\/p>\n<p>O objetivo do dia \u00e9 valorizar as pessoas com s\u00edndrome de Down e\u00a0conscientizar a popula\u00e7\u00e3o sobre a import\u00e2ncia da promo\u00e7\u00e3o dos\u00a0direitos inerentes \u00e0s pessoas que nasceram com a s\u00edndrome de desfrutar uma vida plena e digna, como membros\u00a0participativos em suas comunidades e na sociedade.<\/p>\n<p>A data \u00e9 simb\u00f3lica porque se refere aos 3 cromossomos 21 que caracteriza quem tem a trissomia do cromossomo 21 (21\/3).<\/p>\n<p>Aqui e ao redor do mundo, v\u00e1rios eventos est\u00e3o sendo programados para celebrar a data.<\/p>\n<p><strong>II Confer\u00eancia na ONU<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A exemplo do ano passado, a Miss\u00e3o Brasileira junto \u00e0 ONU co-patrocinar\u00e1 Confer\u00eancia na sede das Na\u00e7\u00f5es Unidas em Nova York, que ter\u00e1 como tema \u201cDireito ao Trabalho\u201d (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.worlddownsyndromeday.org\/wdsd-conference-2013\">http:\/\/www.worlddownsyndromeday.org\/wdsd-conference-2013<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>O Brasil ser\u00e1 representado pelo carioca Breno Viola, Auto-Defensor do Movimento Down, faixa preta de jud\u00f4 e ator do filme \u201cColegas\u201d, com a palestra \u201cTrabalho e Acessibilidade\u201d. Al\u00e9m disso, o trailer do filme \u201cColegas\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/blogcolegasofilme.com\/\">http:\/\/blogcolegasofilme.com\/<\/a> ser\u00e1 exibido durante o evento e ser\u00e1 lan\u00e7ada a vers\u00e3o em ingl\u00eas da can\u00e7\u00e3o da campanha brasileira \u201cSer Diferente \u00e9 Normal\u201d \u2013 um hino \u00e0 diversidade. (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.serdiferente.org.br\">www.serdiferente.org.br<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong>No Brasil<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No Brasil, a Federa\u00e7\u00e3o Brasileira das Associa\u00e7\u00f5es de S\u00edndrome de Down elegeu \u201cEduca\u00e7\u00e3o e Trabalho, Direito de Todos\u201d como tema das comemora\u00e7\u00f5es. O pa\u00eds lidera o n\u00famero de eventos organizados desde que o dia internacional foi criado, em 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Veja a programa\u00e7\u00e3o atualizada em: <a href=\"www.inclusive.org.br\">www.inclusive.org.br<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sobre o Dia Internacional da S\u00edndrome de Down<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O Dia Internacional foi criado pela Down Syndrome International e \u00e9 comemorado desde 2006.\u00a0A data escolhida foi 21 de mar\u00e7o (21\/3) para representar a singularidade da triplica\u00e7\u00e3o (trissomia) do cromossomo 21 que causa esta ocorr\u00eancia gen\u00e9tica.
