O projeto havia sido aprovado na C\u00e2mara dos Deputados em mar\u00e7o desse ano e permitir\u00e1 elevar o status da CORDE &#8211; Coordenadoria Nacional para Integra\u00e7\u00e3o da Pessoa\u00a0 Portadora de Defici\u00eancia, possibilitando ampliar a repercuss\u00e3o das tem\u00e1ticas referentes \u00e0s pessoas com defici\u00eancia no \u00e2mbito do governo federal, atrav\u00e9s da Secretaria Especial de Direitos Humanos.<\/p>\n<p>Segundo Denise Granja, presidente do CONADE &#8211; Conselho Nacional dos Direitos da Pessoa Portadora de Defici\u00eancia, a aprova\u00e7\u00e3o do PL vem ao encontro de sucessivas reivindica\u00e7\u00f5es do segmento das pessoas com defici\u00eancia, tendo sido uma das Delibera\u00e7\u00f5es da II Confer\u00eancia Nacional dos Direitos da Pessoa com Defici\u00eancia.<\/p>\n<p>A perspectiva \u00e9 que a reestrutura\u00e7\u00e3o da Secretaria Especial dos Direitos Humanos e a consequente eleva\u00e7\u00e3o do status da CORDE permitam qualificar o tratamento da quest\u00e3o da inclus\u00e3o social das pessoas com defici\u00eancia, que atingem um universo de cerca 25 milh\u00f5es de cidad\u00e3os e cidad\u00e3s em todo o territ\u00f3rio brasileiro.<\/p>\n<p>Ainda segundo a presidente do CONADE, o fator fundamental para a aprova\u00e7\u00e3o foi a participa\u00e7\u00e3o efetiva dos Conselhos Estaduais e Municipais, \u00f3rg\u00e3os e entidades de defesa de direitos.
